Code of Professional Conduct

IFCCI's Code of Professional Conduct establishes the ethical framework and behavioral standards expected of all certified financial professionals.

Governance & Oversight

This Code of Professional Conduct is developed and maintained by IFCCI with input from industry advisors and subject-matter professionals. It reflects institutional best practices and is not a regulatory instrument. Compliance is expected of all IFCCI-certified professionals and affiliated entities as a condition of certification and continued recognition.

Core Principles

All IFCCI-certified professionals are expected to uphold these six foundational principles in their professional conduct.

Integrity

Act with honesty and fairness in all professional dealings. Do not engage in deceptive, manipulative, or fraudulent conduct. Uphold the trust placed in you by clients, institutions, and the public.

Professional Competence

Maintain and continuously develop the knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent professional services. Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices relevant to your certified domain.

Fairness & Objectivity

Provide advice and services based on objective analysis. Avoid conflicts of interest, and where they arise, disclose them fully. Do not allow personal interests, compensation structures, or third-party relationships to compromise professional judgment.

Transparency

Communicate clearly, accurately, and completely. Disclose all material information relevant to clients' decisions. Do not misrepresent qualifications, performance records, or the nature of financial products and services.

Responsibility

Accept accountability for professional actions and decisions. Act in the best interest of clients and the broader public. Report unethical behaviour or violations of this Code through appropriate channels.

Confidentiality

Protect confidential information obtained in the course of professional activities. Do not use such information for personal advantage or disclose it without proper authorization, except where legally required.

1Formal warning and required remediation
2Temporary suspension of certification or recognition

All complaints and reports are reviewed by IFCCI's independent review process. Individuals subject to disciplinary proceedings are afforded the opportunity to respond before any action is taken.
